North African Nimcha
This short sabre, or nimcha, comes from the markets of Algeria and Morocco, and retains its original scabbard. The dark wood of both this and the sword’s handle is decorated extensively with inlaid metal wire and what I think are copper ‘teardrops’. The scabbard has lost some of its brass bands and has split along its seam—there’s also damage at the tip, which seems fragile. Otherwise, it houses the sword well.
Postage to a UK address is included in the price.
