Short Golia Sword

A charming tulwar of the ‘golia’ type (see my article on Indian sword types for more information), this unusual and rather old blade has been matched to a vintage hilt that appears to be decorated with Bidriware—a decorative style much more rarely encountered in either modern or antique hilts than the more commonly found koftgari. The considerable amount of silver on the hilt is mostly intact and the heavily curved blade, which is possibly pattern-welded, is tightly held in the hilt.

The sword comes with a modern blue scabbard, made in the Indian style.
